Carpet的相关用法

Carpet为名词，常见单词， 有“地毯”的意思。不过这个单词其实也有不少其他的固定搭配，比如说a carpet of sth 表示“（覆盖地面的）一层很厚的东西”； be / get called on the carpet表示“被上司叫去训斥”；而 sweep / brush sth under the carpet则是表示“隐瞒/掩饰某事”。例子： Judy enjoyed seeing a carpet of sunflowers in the sun.
